Location. The small family-run Abbatial Saint Germain hotel is located in Paris, France, in the Latin Quarter, one of Paris's liveliest entertainment districts. Notre-Dame Cathedral is 2 blocks away, Le Pantheon 4 blocks and Luxembourg Gardens half a mile. The designer boutiques of St-Germain-des-Pres are one mile away.
Hotel Features. The Abbatial Saint Germain hotel occupies a renovated 18th-century building on Boulevard St Germain, one of the Left Bank's smartest streets. While the hotel has been modernised with air conditioning and a lift, many of the original features have been restored, such as the vaulted stone ceiling in the breakfast room and the original wooden beams.

Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast (surcharge) and read the complimentary newspapers in the lounge. There is no restaurant on site, but the streets around the hotel are filled with cafés, bars and restaurants to suit all budgets.

Paris is easy to explore on foot, and there is a reliable, cheap metro (underground), which runs throughout the city and the suburbs. Buses are a great way to see the city's sights. Tickets can be purchased from bus drivers or from the machines in metro stations. Regional RER trains run to destinations in the surrounding area. Taxis are available in the streets, but can be hard to find at busy times. Advance booking is recommended.
